Lend a Helping Hand with the End of Term Crawl

Over the past several weeks, we have seen a sharp increase in questions and suggestions across social media about how members of the public can support long term preservation and access for born-digital government information, including data, websites, reports, and other digital tools.

Some of the information we have seen is verifiably accurate and helpful, while other information is incomplete or misleading, even about effective activities.

Fortunately, there are efforts out there that are legitimate and could use your help!


The simple fact is: No one knows how much born-digital U.S. Federal government information has been created, or where it all is, or how much of it is being preserved.

National Forum

In December of 2018, the PEGI Project convened a National Forum, involving industry leaders from across the public, academic, and private sectors. Attendees worked together to develop an alignment map charting current activities, including both overlaps and gaps, in the provision of preservation and access to federal electronic government information.
